Seit 2011 untersucht das Ars Electronica Futurelab gemeinsam mit Performance-
Avantgardist und Komponist Klaus Obermaier innovative Formen von Publikumsbeteiligung in der bühnenbasierten Medienkunst. (St)Age of Participation lautet der Name des künstlerischen Forschungsprojekts – eine Anspielung auf das gegenwärtige Paradigma von Social Media und Kollaborationskultur.

Since 2011, the Ars Electronica Futurelab and performance avant-gardiste and composer Klaus Obermaier have been investigating innovative ways to include audiences in stage productions. Their research project “(St)age of Participation” addresses the current paradigm of social media and the culture of collaboration.
